ITV is a DVB DTH service provider transmitting more than 30 TV and radio channels combined with Interactive aplications. Customer premices equipment is a bidirectional set top box with feed back possibilities. ITV serves more than 30000 customers.

From other part the next generation of broadband VSAT networks SkyWAN® is capable of supporting those requirements in a unique way. SkyWAN® is the platform for establishing advanced Media Network Solution, composed of fixed stations, Flyaway or mobile SNG, to transfer videos via IP or encapsulated in DVB.

In addition ITV is able to deliver a packaged solution with the following modules:


* Monitoring and Control System of the back haul sites

* Resource Management and fast booking capabilities for DVB and IP based transmissions


Solution Details

SkyWAN® is a unified broadband platform that supports voice, video and data applications in the most cost-effective manner. ITV MF-TDMA VSAT system supports an array of applications, with the ability to send bursts of up to 8.75 Mbit/s per site and allows high speed, hub-less communication between remote sites. Any station can be reached via a single satellite hop connection. SkyWAN® provides instant Bandwidth on Demand through its fully dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme. Space segment capacity is automatically assigned to a station requiring transmission capacity in the most efficient way possible, leaving free capacity for use by the other stations.

Voice as well as real-time data and non-real-time data are transmitted simultaneously with guaranteed service quality. Standard user interfaces such as Ethernet and Frame Relay, voice/fax, serial synchronous and asynchronous connections are available and ready for applications based on these standards providing a unified network infrastructure. IP Routing with full QoS implementation enables the support of Internet Protocol (IP) applications such as File Transfer, Mailing,Web access, IP Video or Voice over IP.
ND SatCom introduced Flexible Multicast Channel Assignment (FMCA) into SkyWAN® specifically for Broadcast- and Broadband Media Networks. FMCA mode significantly increases the station?s receive capacity and allows for efficient IP-based program multi casting for digital, broadcast quality channels.

Dedicated services

Video conferencing and telemedicine
ITV will provide high speed links (permanent or on demand) between any points on the network for video conferencing and telemedicine seances, serving customer’s needs. Telemedicine can be established between local and international hospitals.

Radio and TV broadcasting via Internet
Broadcast via Internet of TV and radio programs for worldwide coverage. The quality of the broadcast varies from 16 to 256 Kbit/s that relay to the best life streams of Radio signals and Video images.

SNG services
ITV propose time scheduled SNG services for the media in Bulgaria. This service can provide TV and Radio live transitions from the territory of Bulgaria to their central broadcast centers.

Radio and TV broadcasting via satellite
ITV provides possibility for permanent digital radio and TV broadcasting for TV and radio stations via satellite with national and International coverage.
